This is a  10th  time adventure or Himalayan High   Spirits Adventure and we are offering you an experience of a lifetime.
 Flying first into the amazing capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. Himalayan High Spirits Adventures start the excitement with a coupel of days of sightseeing and cultural highlights.
Then another flight takes us into a land up that up until a few years ago, was unknown to many in the western world-Bhutan. The Kingdom of Bhutan. this is a land of stunning scenery, cultural pride and the wonderful pronouncement of the importance of the gross national happiness being more important then the gross national Product.we have 16days here to get to know the people and places and at least soak up a little o the Bhutanese magic.
This trip includes 6 days Camping trek- the Druk path Trek between Paro and the Capital, Thimphu. one of the most popular treks for its stunning scenery, it follows a wilderness trail past several remote lakes and meditation retreats.
It is a medium grade trek suitable or those of good fitness and health going to a maximum altitude of 4235m.
After the trek,we have 8 day road journey into the heart of the country, crossing several high passes to the Bhumthang valley. there will be time to get out and take in the beautiful scenery and many of the Dzongs (Buddhist  monastaries) and just explore the area.
we will have days in both Thimpu and Paro,before returning to Kathmandu.

3 Wednesday 9/5 Fly to Paro,Bhutan Arrival at Par National carrier:Druk air.it is the most exciting mountain flights and befitting introduction to the spectacular beauty of our country. In a clear weather, there are magnificent views of the world’s highest peaks. on arrival ,you will be welcomed by representative of Experience Bhutan Travel at the airport ,assist you with your luggage and drive to Hotel for lunch.
4 Thursday 9/6 Excursion Taktsang monastery Following breakfast at the hotel, drive 10 km north and hike to Taktsang(tiger’s den) monastery hanging on a cliff 900km above the valley. it takes about 2 and half hrs uphill at an average pace through the forest of pine till the closest view point and 1 hrs descend to the valley. We stop at tourism café situated half way for refreshment. In 8th century Guru Rimpoche flew here on the back of tigress in one of his eight forms(Guru Dorje Drolo) And meditated for 3  months in cave and converted Paro valley into Buddhism. On our way back,stop at the café for lunch continue downhill and drive back to Hotel.
5. Friday 9/7 Witness Paro Festival Following breakfast ,drive to the festival ground near the Paro dzong. Your accompanied guide will take care of the sitting arrangement(depends on how early you go there).Paro Tshechu or festival is an annual festival performed  an honor of Guru Rinpoche.The dances are mostly religious.Day by Day program will be given to you for your convinence by our guide.Lunch will ne in one of the best restaurant in the town.Overnightt in  Hotel.

Trek: National Museum-Jele Dzong
Following breakfast,drive to the point where starts trek. For the first couple hrs, follow the farm road that goes through villages and apple orchards.The trial ascends gradually through the forest of chir pine , spruce; silver fir etc to the camp below Jele Dzong .if weather permits,Paro valley can be seen with views of snow –capped mountains behind.Altitude:3,350m,Distance:10 km Time about 5 hours. Overnight in tent.B/L/D
8 Monday 9/9   Jele Dzong- Jangchulakha
Following breakfast;begin with climb; past the Jele Dzongs(if care taker is present you can visit the temple inside) following the ridge and enter the thick forest of junipers.The trail then takes you through thick temperate forests and rhodendron trees. You may see yak herders around camp site.Altitude; 3550m, Distance ;10 km time :6 hrs. Overnight in Tent
9 Tuesday 9/10   Jangchulakha – Jimilangtso
The trail follws the ridge making up and downs and is said to be long and bit challenging.On a clear day,there are beautiful views of the mountains and the valleys. Distance 11km and takes about 5 hrs (altitude.3650m)
10 Wednesday 9/11   Jimilangtsho-Simkotra Tsho
Following breakfast start with another gradual climb past several false summits and arrive to lake Junetsho.Stop for lunch here and then start uphill for another 2 hours until you arrive to the camp area above the lake Simkotra .Overnight in Camp
11 Thursday 9/12   Simkotra Tscho –Thimpu
It is another long climb past several false summits,then a long rocky traverse to group of cairns atop Labana pass at 4210m.The trial descends gently and traverses above a broad valley to another crest. Along this stretch of trial,there are great views of Dochula and Mt.Jomolhari and other mountains.Pass through stone wall and soon come to some prayer flags on a hill above thetrial that mark a seldom-used sky burial site.Another long traverse leads to crest and trial drops and crosses a final ridge called Phumela pass at 4080 m.weather permitting;there are stunning views of thehighest mountain in Bhutan(Mt.Gangkharpuensum)  and other Himalayan peaks.Above Phajoding ,the trial  is marked by a small stone stupa .Below sprawls the entire Thimpu valley.Descend downhill through an area forested with blue pine.Taking it leisurely, you reach Motihang(above Thimpu) in above 1.5 hrs. You will be well- come by our representive and driver with some refreshment and drive to hotel  for a hot shower and nice lunch. After,lunch,you can stroll in the town ,visit handicraft shops ,do shopping meet people as you like .Overnight in Hotel
12 Friday 9/13 Thimpu sight seeing Following breakfast, go for sight seeing of the places of internet inThimpu. Visit the weekend market(Friday Till Sunday) to see people from all walks of life buying and selling local as well as imported products.
Momorial Chorten: This is a most impressive stupa built  in the memory of Bhutan’s third King by the order of Grand Queen mother Ashi phuntso Chhoden in 1974 .it is a multi storoed stupa with numerous paintaings and complex statues inside the monument provide a rare insight of the Buddhist philosophy.Everyday there will be any devotees circumabulating the stupa with prayer beads in their hands.Changangka Lhakhang :one of the oldest and most scsred temples in Thimpu valley situated on a top of knoll overlooking the Thimpu city built city in 15th century dedicated to the god of compassion.Drive further up and visit the zoo to see Bhutan national animal “ The Takin”. National Library: It hold a vast collection of ancient Buddhist texts,manuscript and also modern academic books. National Institute for Zorig Chusum (thirteen traditional arts &crafts). The Royal Government of Bhutan has sponsored and established in this national institute in the year 1971 to preserve and promote culture and to contribute to the country’s economy  through quality products and services. In the course of history Bhutan has developed a unique artist tradition ,which has played   a vital role in modeling its distinct cultural heritage and this tradition is reflected in thirteen traditional arts&crafts. You can see the students making clay statues,slate carving ,wood carving,sewing,drawing,paintings etc.
Handicrafts Emporium:  It displays wide range of products such as beautifully woven fabrics for man & women,crafted products &other decorative items.
After lunch, visit Traditional Medical institute: It was established with the help of EU to improve traditional medicine.Different medical herbs,minerals,animal products are used for prepare  traditional medicines. Folk Heritage Museum: One of the oldest house in Thimpu ,having seen restored and transformed into Folk Heritage Museum in the year 2001 under the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Ashi Dorji Wangmo. This museum is meant to serve  an account of everyday rural life for the young urbanized generations and as a place  for preserving objects related to this life ,in case this way of life dissppears as time passes . Textile Museum: This museum was inaugurated under the patronage of Queen Ashi Sangay Choden in June 2001. Many intricate designs of Bhutanese textiles are displayed here. It will also serve as center for conservation ,restoration and documentation of  Bhutanese textiles. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
13 Saturday 9/14 Drive to Punakha(71km,2-3 hrs) Following breakfast ,3 hrs drive to punakha,the winter residence of chief abbot.The road climbs for about an hour till you reach a pass at Dochula at an altitude of 3150m. weather permitting,this pass offers the most spectacular view over the high peaks of the eastern Himalayas.you can stop several places and even walk to near by forest to watch various species of Birds. Lunch will probably at Dochula cafeteria depends on weather and bit of hike that you decide to make on and around the pass.After having  you nice lunch,continue driving cautions and slow. The road descends all the way to Punakha & wangdue through temperate forest of Rhododendron &magnolia bloom in spring then a semi-tropical zone where orange trees,banana trees and cactuses are found in abundance .On arrival,chick in to the hotel.
After the lunch ,do the sightseeing in Punakha valley.(Altitude:1300mts/42900ft). Visit the Punakha Dzong some 7-8 km away from the hotel. Punakha Dzong is the most impressive dzong in Bhutan situated in the confluence of Phuchhu&Mochhu(male &female rivers).It looks like a giant ship with excellent wood work and detail of paintings. It was here that the first King was Crowned in 1907.It was capital of Bhutal until 1955 and then it was shifted to Thimpu.This Dzongs was built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel in 1637. This dzong still serves as winter resident of the Chief lama of Bhutan and houses both admiministrative & religious centre of Punakha district. Drive further north of the valley and hike for about 45 minutes crossing over suspension bridge to new Khamsum Yuelley Namgyel chorten, anew temple,the paradise of Guru Rimpoche through the rice field and village of Niengergang.The view from the Temple to the valley below is Photogenic.Overnight in Hotel.
14 Sunday 9/15 Punakha Bhumthang(Distance:211km
6-7 hrs)
Following break fast, drive to Bhumthang ,Central Bhutan.The road passes (alt.3,300m),the boundary between western and central Bhutan.It is a journey you are not likely to forget.The scenery is certainly stunning so you need to make occasional stops to take beautiful pictures enroute. In places the road is literally carved out of impressive cliff sides.Descending from the other side it is along way down to Trongsa .The Dzong looks superb from a great distance.It is a longest monastery/fortress in gthe Kingdom built along the ridge at a very strategic location for political reason. It was from here that the present Royal family emerged as the most powerful force at the beginning of 20th century. This dzong was built in 1648 by the order of Shabdrung Rimpoche.After short stop at Trongsa Town for refreshment ,continue your drive to Bhumthang ,one of the most spectacular valleys in Bhutan and also the heartland of Buddhism. From Trongsa you drive across the Yotong La Pass(3400m) and descend eventually into the valley of chumey&Chamkhar, the heart of the famous Bhumthang Yatha weaving region.This central area of Bhutan is where the colorful wool weaving is famous.Drive Further up cross Kikila pass at 2900mts and finally descend doen to the valley of chamkhar.Over night at Hotel.
15 Monday 9/16 Bhumthang/Sight seeing Following breakfast ,drive around the valley and visit the historically important temples in Bhumthang. Bhumthang is the general name given to a complex of 4 valley viz:Chumey,Choekor,Tang&Ura with altitude varies from 2600m to 4000 m. Visit  Kurje  Lhakhang ,one of the most sacred temples in Bhutan.It is believed that Guru Rimpoche came here in the 8th century and medicated for several days until his body got imprinted on the back of arock. He then manisfisted into different forms and subdued Sheiling Karpo,the local deity of Bhumthang valley and converted him into Buddhism.Cross the suspension bridge of Chamkhar riber and visit Tamshing Lakhang on the other side of the river founded in 1501 by Pema Lingpa,the treasure discoverer.It contains intresting Buddhist paintings dating back to 16th century .And also visit Koncho Sum Lhakhang which is close to Tamshing.On your way bacj visit,swiss farm,cheese factory(buy some swiss cheese if you like).Finally visit the Jakar dzong (castle of white bird) .Retire of the day .Overnight at the hotel.
16 Tuesday 9/17 Bhumthang /Wangdue (193 km)/5-6 hrs Drive back to Wangdue Following at  the most  same road.Hot lunch will be served en route.With time you can visit the most isolated and scenic valley of Phobjikha en route. This valley is the winter home of Endangered Black –Necked Cranes.Over night in hotel.
